Safeguarding Self-Assessment – Community and Voluntary Sector (VCS)
The Safeguarding self-assessment represents a standard of good practice and will help VCS organisations improve their arrangements in keeping children and young people safe.
Working Together 2018 Guidance
The new Working Together 2018 guidance sets out what organisations and agencies who work with children must and should do to safeguard and promote the welfare of all children and young people under the age of 18 in England. It is a significant update to the previous version of the guidance published in 2015.
Safeguarding Self-Assessment Completion
The self-assessment should be completed within 3 months from login for existing members of the Children, Young People & Families Consortium. For new members of the Consortium, this is extended to 6 months. It is recommended that more than one person within the organisation has access to the online self-assessment.
The self-assessment, including supporting evidence together with any actions plans should be reviewed on a regular basis during 2018/19 by your organisations trustees.
It is expected practice for the trustees have sight of the full self-assessment at least once a year. The self-assessment should be updated on a regular basis along with action plans.
