This section provides safeguarding information and advice for professionals and volunteers who deliver services to children, young people and their families.
As a professional or volunteer working with or for children you are in a good position to notice if a child is showing signs of abuse or neglect, or to suspect whether they have been a victim of bullying or have seen harmful content on the internet.
This website has advice and guidance, and links to other useful sites, to help you understand what action you can take to protect a child.

Infant Crying and How to Cope (ICON)
The ICON public health message is all about helping people who care for babies to cope with crying. This includes professionals, volunteers, parents, and carers.
We provide training on how to support parents and carers with ICON. Find out more.
The Early Help Locality Teams bring together practitioners from; Family Recovery Programme, Targeted Family Support, Families for Change, Youth Offending, Integrated Youth Support Service, Children’s Centre’s and Education Welfare Officers.
