The Rotherham Safeguarding Children’s Partnership (RSCP) is the data controller under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

  • Email us directly.

We collect and use your data to:

  • Respond to enquiries or feedback (lawful basis: public task, as we administer safeguarding activities).
  • Investigate or resolve service-related issues (public task / legal obligation).
  • Meet regulatory and safeguarding duties (legal obligation).

How we protect it

We use secure systems and follow strict policies to keep all personal data confidential and safe from unauthorised access or disclosure.


Who we share it with

We may share your information with:

  • Safeguarding partners or statutory bodies when required by law or where a child’s safety is at risk.
  • IT and analytics providers for system support and performance analysis. Only under strict contracts and UK/EU data safeguards.
  • Organisations involved in reviewing or improving our services (for example., external auditors, commissioned researchers).

How long we keep it

We keep data according to our retention schedule:

  • Contact form submissions and emails: retained for 3 years after last contact.
  • Phone call logs: retained for 1 year unless used for an ongoing safeguarding investigation.
  • Anonymised data for service improvement may be kept indefinitely in aggregated form.

Your rights

You have the right to:

  • Ask to see the personal data we hold about you.
  • Request corrections if it is inaccurate.
  • Request deletion in specific cases (unless we have legal or safeguarding reasons to keep it).
  • Object to how we use it, or ask us to restrict processing.
  • Request a copy to transfer to another organisation.
